Woodless Construction

Accessible shelter for the poor

Woodless Construction houses can be as simple as a small round hut, 2 or 3 metre in diameter and built in a couple of days, replacing a similar sized traditional thatched round hut.
For many villagers, the popular house model is a square or rectangular room, often covered by a single dome.

Every builder who participates in a DW training programme starts by building his or her own house. In some villages, builders have now built many houses for their family.
