DW France won the World Habitat Award 2008 for Preventing Typhoon Damage to Housing in Central Vietnam

Two World Habitat Awards are made annually by the Building and Social Housing Foundation (BSHF) and presented at the United Nations global celebration of World Habitat Day, which were held in Luanda (Angola) on Monday 6th October 2008.

DW France is the first NGO to have received this Award more than once since the BSHF initiated it in 1985, as part of its contribution to the United Nations International Year of Shelter for the Homeless.

DW France first won the World Habitat Award 1998 for Promoting Woodless Construction in Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso
