    qualifications: A.A.Dipl. RIBA II (equivalent M.Arch) (1973, Architectural Association, London, UK) and Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Planning (1985, MIT, Cambridge, USA).
    Professional skills and experience: programme planning, preparation and supervision in the following fields: slum upgrading and rural sites and services and housing improvement; upgrading and conservation; settlement planning. Associate professor in rural planning and development since 1986. Practical experience and research in the following countries: India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iran, United Kingdom, USA, Canada, Philippines, Indonesia, China, Afghanistan, Oman et Egypt.
    present positions: co-founder and Director of Development Workshop (Canada) and Associate Professor at the University School of Rural Planning and Development, University of Guelph, Canada.

Has also developed programmes for production of building materials using local resources. Worked in Angola, Canada, Egypt, Iran, Niger, Oman and USA. - present positions: co-founder and Director of Development Workshop (Canada and Angola) and Canadian Honorary Consul to Angola.
